HAPPY EASTER BITCHES! Already we’re moments away from an alcohol-induced coma, ding-ding next stop: death. But enough of that nonsense, for this is a story of lush food, superior cocktails, and the fabulous VOYAGE OF BUCK.

It’s fair to say, we love the design of this cheeky gastro-bar, with its sumptuous art deco decor, moody colour scheme, and booths boasting a call button for when one’s in desperate need of a libation – which, UN-surprisingly, we tots are!.
Meanwhile the cocktail menu boasts SO much temptation, we barely know where to begin. But begin these bitches do with a Calypso Sour, combining tequila, gin, fermented pineapple, mango and chilli to sumptuous effect.
Three seconds later we’re suitably refreshed, and once again hitting the call button. Our next must-have: the El Morocco, which combines whisky – both Monkey Shoulder and Smoky Monkey – with Campari & fig.

MY GOD THIS IS F**KING MAGNIFICENT, we bellow for all to hear. Each gorgeous ingredient, in turn, revealing itself to our happy tastebuds, and culminating with a tantalising splash of cheeky chocolate bitters.
Suddenly remembering we’re dining as well as binge drinking, our attention now turns – via the sweet and citrus notes of an albariño – to the new food menu, which like the cocktails is full of original and delicious thinking.
Soon we’re enjoying rather tender Chicken thighs with coriander leaf & gochujang [ Korean red chilli paste that’s somehow savoury, sweet and spicy ] deciding MORE and NOW is an absolute must!

Even better, in our not-at-all-humble opinion, the gorgeous Maple and miso glazed pork belly with roast cauliflower puree. The contrasting hints of sweetness simply dazzle, making this dish a perfect pleasure.
Yet another thrust of the call button, and we’re pairing a smoky Malbec with our large plates, soon to be followed by a Romanian Pinot.
Scrumpy battered hake with tenderstem broccoli and warm tartare sauce, as well as Corn fed chicken breast, with turmeric potatoes and a gorgeous, zesty salsa of red chilli & mango – are both inventive and UTTERLY delicious.

Meanwhile the sides are also first-rate – Roast carrots with rosemary maple, and stunning grilled asparagus with lemon verbena oil.
The perfect ending to our voyage: even MORE drinks, obvs, and a superb cheesecake with limoncello and amaretti crumb. All of which might explain why these bitches have spent this oh-so-happy Easter so utterly “BUCKED” UP
